Oddometer: 159. Location: South Aus. Mine 890 R with 1500 kms has cold started on left cylinder since day 1, a little throttle and it picks up the other cylinder. It seems like an electrical issue as there is a fuel smell but when it does pickup 2nd cylinder it hunts like its running lean until it warms.

Launched in 2021, the new 890 was a big improvement over the 790 that came before it. Power and torque were up slightly, but the real improvements came in rideability thanks to heavier internals, a new clutch and other tweaks. Was thinking of going to the BMW 850, but the 890 is a lot lighter. The 1250 is just sooooo freakin heavy, it's a beatdown. It just depends on what you want to do with the bike. If you are going to ride off road mostly, get an 890r. If you plan to stay on road then look for a better road bike and a dirt bike.
